Original piece of encaustic art by local artist Suzette Heeres.  Encaustic is many layers of hot beeswax which contains resin.  Layers are combined with oil paints and oil sticks.  Each layer is heat set using a flame or heat gun.  When finished it is buffed to a high sheen.  These works will last forever but should not be displayed in direct sunlight or left in a hot car.  

Please do not try to scratch the wax surface, you will succeed.
